Chili Mole- it is a cold spring day, so chili sounded good. I love chocolate and cinnamon with meat, so we are attempting our version today. Penne alla Vodka alla Lidia Bastianich- my favorite version- so not good for you!
What I am Currently Reading
4/24- "Plagues and Peoples" by William H. McNeill.Older book on how infectious diseases influence history. I always wanted to study genetics or infectious diseases, but somehow got stuck on Latin...
4/19- "The Swan Thieves" Elizabeth Kostova. Finished- liked "the Historian" a lot (ending the exception- but that is nothing new- most endings of most books disappoint. See "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" on how to write an ending), but this effort was okay. I worked to read it because I simply wanted to know the story, but all characters were the same (and chapters supposedly had different characters narrating) and nothing really happened. See "Possession" for a good novel about uncovering lost love affairs and history's harsh treatment of talented female artists.
Who are these people anyway?! How do people get away thinking it is OK to legislate what people can / can't do in their own homes? (Or I suppose in public for some really scary people!) Nevertheless, to be that afraid of sex toys that one might want to ban them speaks volumes about their own sex lives! Kind of funny.
